The X-Files Wiki is a free online reference guide to The X-Files and related series, Millennium and The Lone Gunmen (know collectively on this website as The X-Files Universe). Our goal is to become the most definitive, accurate and accessible encyclopedia about everything related to those series, presenting topics as if the mythology of The X-Files Universe was real.
This website is a wiki, meaning that any user may edit any article by clicking on the Edit button at the top of each page. This makes it very easy for any fan to share their knowledge and insight of The X-Files Universe and add to the collected information available.
The project was started in July 2005 by Daniel Leckie, a fan of The X-Files and Millennium from Aberdeen, Scotland. Its creation was inspired by the existence of several popular wikis dedicated to television series and by the prospect of an upcoming second feature film in The X-Files series, while it's cosmetic design was more specifically influenced by Memory Alpha, a Star Trek wiki, and by Wiki 24, a wiki about the television series 24. There are currently 5,716 articles that are being worked on.
