Topps Comics is a division of the American trading card publisher and gum/candy distributor The Topps Company, Inc. and were publishers of The X-Files comics from January 1995 until September 1998. Based in New York City, Topps Comics published its total output of comic books, the nature of which varied, from 1993 until 1998 but its best-selling title was The X-Files.

A total of forty-one issues in this series were published, made up of stand-alone non-canon stories (similar to the novels), along with an independent graphic novel (Afterflight) and some short specials. Issues 1 (Not to be Opened Until X-Mas) through 12 (Feelings of Unreality Part Three: Nightmare of History ) were all a part of one continuous story (Project Aquarius ), with several smaller story arcs. After issue 12, the stories are self-contained—either lasting one issue, or in smaller story arcs of two or three parts.

Topps Comics also published a comic book adaptation of The X-Files Movie, a four-issue adaptation of The X-Files novel Ground Zero and a series of adaptations of The X-Files episodes (nine issues of episodes from season 1 were published when the series was cancelled).
