The Simpsons is an animated television series made by 20th Century Fox, with the main character being Homer Simpson. (TXF: "Revelations")

In 1997, Jordan Black dressed up as Marge Simpson, another character on the show, for Halloween. (MM: "The Curse of Frank Black")

In 1998, Gibson Praise watched an episode of the series. (TXF: "The End")

Although it was not mentioned in dialogue, Gibson was watching the episode "The Cartridge Family", from the ninth season of The Simpsons. The use of that extract in "The End" seems to be a "thank you" for The Simpsons' Season 8 episode "The Springfield Files", in which the characters of Mulder and Scully (voiced by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, respectively) guest star. The Cigarette Smoking Man also makes a cameo appearance in "The Springfield Files" and the episode includes a visual reference to Mulder's first scene in "Duane Barry", when the animated version of Mulder shows his FBI badge and it bears a picture of himself wearing only Speedos.
