During the 1960s, Martin Luther King, Jr. was supportive of people in Johannesburg wanting freedom from the apartheid regime of South Africa. (TXF: "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man")
During the 1980s, Nelson Mandela was imprisoned by the apartheid South African government. He was eventually released and became the country's president, dying in 2013. (TXF: "The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat")
