The Second Elder (played by George Murdock) was a high-ranking member of the Syndicate.

History[edit | edit source]

The Elder was present when the First Elder learned about the CSM's actions in regards to the MJ documents tape and intimidation of Walter Skinner. (TXF: "Apocrypha")

He was present when Marita Covarrubias described the massacre in Kazakhstan carried out by the faceless aliens. (TXF: "The Red and the Black")

In a meeting with the CSM, The Elder heard the CSM agree to handle Gibson Praise. (TXF: "The End")

The Elder was at the Syndicate meeting in London where the group learned about the new alien virus. He supposed it was an isolated incident, but the group did not think so. (The X-Files: Fight the Future)

The Elder was present at the New York meeting when CSM explained the situation with the Phoenix Syndicate operative who had been infected with the alien virus. (TXF: "The Beginning")

In 1999, the Second Elder was notified by the CSM about the attacked doctors in the Potomac Yard and of an emergency Syndicate meeting. Just then, he was met by a faceless alien who took the form of Eugene Openshaw. Having just been informed he was killed, the Elder realized who it was, but it was too late. He was killed and the alien assumed his features so that he could infiltrate the Syndicate. At an emergency meeting of the Syndicate in New York City, the alien posing as the Second Elder proposed joining forces with the rebel force against the colonists, an idea that was shot down by the Cigarette Smoking Man. This sudden and extreme proposition alerted the CSM to the alien's infiltration of their group and he charged with killing him. Spender was able to enter the Second Elder's home and attempted to kill him with a gimlet weapon, but failed. However, Alex Krycek had also entered and killed the alien. (TXF: "Two Fathers")
