can you grant content moderator tools or even administrator tools to User:Dana Scully Fan? He's been very helpful on the wiki and done a lot of good work.
I am really sorry for going behind your back. I deeply apologize and I realize you were still active, and should have heeded your comments last time.
Below is an explanation why I wanted, and still want, the bureaucrat tools.
1 Forums are depracated. Fandom is switching to Discussions. This wiki is a target by staff to convert and we, that is, you and me, objected to the switch at the time a staff member asked about the switch, citing several features we want.
2 Discusssions has the features we wanted and desired. Recently, the Announcements feature was released. This tool allows administrators to notify contributors about a conversation/discussion or whatever page desired. This was the thing we objected and desired when the switch was complete.
3 The dedicated community app. Dedicated community apps are available on Android and Ios. That allows a person to down load the Fandom and p and see the X-files content from their cellular device and read on the go. Interest for the app is shown here and here. Widespread interest in having one is desired.
Now for the other news. I had contact with staff about the above points. They said that they could be done, especially point #3, should be done with a nod from a bureaucrat, or the community.
It would be tedious to notify everyone every single time something that needs to be done so.
Thus, here is my proposal. I request for the administrator and bureaucrat tools back. The following will happen
I will dedicate the time, energy, and effort to ensure they occur correctly.
I will also be the contact point for any hitches, things, and events for staff, as I plan on overseeing the events.
Make sure the tools are done correctly.
At the conclusion of doing all that above, I will resign my tools so that the wiki will be back to you.
Oh and, just in case, yes. I have done this before on wikis where I am only administrator. The staff went to the bureaucrat or sought bureaucrat approval. Forums were approved soley by the bureaucrat, who was the main contact point of the process.
All I request is the administrator and bureaucrat flag so that I can ensure all that will done. As I said before, I will resign the flags afterwards.
Point is... It speaks kind of negatively of you as an admin and makes you seem power hungry. You could have first talked to Audrey about being potentially promoted instead of going behind her back. Even though we don't get paid... Think of this as a job... What you did will likely reflect badly in the future. I'd be thankful she didn't block you since what you did warranted that in addition to the demotion.
Selena is right. What you did made you seem power hungry and honestly rude. What you could & should have done with these new developments is told me about it. I can always send an email to staff if you ask me to (and I did just now). I'm also on Twitter @audreysbook in case you can't get an immediate response from me for whatever reason.
I'll give you your admin rights back but I don't feel comfortable making you a bureaucrat as we've now had to discuss this sort of issue two times, and I'd like to make sure it doesn't happen again before giving you the tool I can't take back.
So, if you need something done by a b-crat, tell me, and I'll do it. Simple as that.
Hi there! The production notes for the xfiles wiki are really well sited. I'm looking for the actual scripts of the episodes since I'm writing a pilot. Any idea where a good source would be? The regular script libraries don't seem to have them. And transcripts aren't the same. Right now I'm looking for the script of The Erlenmeyer Flask. Thanks!
WOW This is great. I've been looking for scripts for years. I do own a few, and found a few online, but just wow. Thanks for sharing.
If you want to add them to the wiki, fine. I've just never come across wiki's, in general, adding real scripts before. I don't know what the policy is, will FOX ask for them to be taken down.
I doubt fox will ask them to be taken down. The real meat and importance are the tv shows. If we upload them, then Fox will fly in a rage and issue a DMCA.
As for scripts, I guess they are fine. I have seen Eureka Wiki adding a few scripts without complaints. So I guess we can.
Fantastic good then. I just wasn't sure. Going to be saving these now and very excited to have much more to my collection.
I have scripts for other shows too, just never have the time to scan and PDF.
The episode pages could definitely be updated to reflect stuff from the original scripts. Maybe even having a scan or excerpt of the scene that's different or cut added as a photo thumbnail to pages.
LOL just reading the truth and I'm glad they changed the ending, although now that the truth isn't the last episode, adding it back in wouldn't matter. But LOL Smoking Man being 100% in the script and episode, obviously, we know they didn't plan to bring it back. But still, I wished they could have just said Smoking Man had alien DNA in him to survive or something or come up with a good explanation.
Oh they’re not screenshots, they’re actually promotional pictures released by Fox. They release promo images for every episode a couple of weeks before it airs.
Do you know how to make the background picture appear as a singular picture (like this wikia's background). I can't do that over at my fanon Infinite Stratos fanon, and I am hoping you know how, and help? :3
It has to be big enough, so enlarge it. I use Photoshop Elements 14 for all my background designs. See File:Wiki-background for reference, take note of the image size and maybe use it as a template to place things over top.
Hey there Princess Diva! My name is Jamie and I'm on the Community Development team over at FANDOM. I saw that you've adopted this wiki! Congrats! We've already selected it for Forum Migrations to Discussions so I wanted to give you a heads up about that. All of the content in forums will be available in Discussions so it won't go away. Let me know if you have any strong objections.
Ok, we won't move forward with the migration right now, but you should be aware that forums will be discontinued eventually (no date set yet), which is why we're trying to get more communities with upcoming releases on board as soon as possible. If you need to know more, check out those links I posted in my first post.
I know but by the time it's rolled out I believe that things will be addressed such as thread highlights etc. I've seen FAQ page and I don't think I want to move forward until all the "planned" features are implemented. Thanks! :)
Yup, I have made you an admin on a trial run to help out with coding/other things like that... Btw, have you seen The X-Files series before, or did you just find me via the adoption post??
oh I have watched the x files before. A long time ago. I just restarted re-watching a month ago and decided to edit out as well. I happened to see your adoption post simply because I was doing maintenance stuff as well on community Central.
I'm still on season 2. The nostalgia hurts real good.
yeah. I knew that a big well know wiki like the xfiles would attract a lot of people to edit (good and bad) and saw that it had mostly inactivity so thought I help out with the washing the bad parts out.
P.S. if you look at the deletion log, (without a specific username entered), you would see a ton of vandal stuff (and I mean A LOT) deleted.
As you can see from my profile page, I first edited this wiki in January 2015! :) Not intensely but I overlooked it. I also have some history with another user here/dramatic trolling issue (I won't elaborate too much on that) that revolved around this wiki a couple years back, which is the primary reason I know about the happenings around here...
