Gerald Norman "Jerry" Springer (February 13, 1944-April 27, 2023) is a British-born American television personality, a former Democratic mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio, musician and host of the tabloid talk show bearing his name, The Jerry Springer Show, since its debut in 1991.
In 1997 Shaineh Berkowitz was watching Springer's show before being unknowingly impregnated by The Great Mutato. Believing her child to be of alien origin she contacted Mulder after he is mentioned by one of Springer's guests. Once Mulder and Scully were able to discover the truth about the father of her child, she and fellow victim Elizabeth Pollidori both appeared on Springer's show with their babies.
