Dylan Lokensgard is the son of Anne T. Lokensgard, principal of his high school, who inherited an original ability from her to control insects and have powers just like their own skills. He used this to murder and severely injure several students at his school, out of jealously from being in love with a girl who was already in a relationship, Natalie Gordon, and to protect himself when he was cornered. When he tried to run away with her, trapping Agent Monica Reyes in webbing he shot at her, Anne revealed she knew about his abilities because she had them as well, saying they'd never be normal people and he shouldn't try. She took him away and ran, leaving Gordon behind and several dead people wrapped in webbing at their house Agents Reyes, John Doggett, and Dana Scully found when rescuing a consultant on the case who was also trapped in the webbing by Anne. The Lokensgards disappeared, never to be found again, but as Scully lamented his unrequited love for Gordon, Gordon saw fireflies spell "I Love You" out her window, most likely send by him as a love message to her.
