The Deputy Director is a high-level position in the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A Deputy Director outranks an Assistant Director and ranks below the Director of the FBI. (TXF: "Within", et al.) In June 2000, Assistant Director Alvin Kersh was appointed to the position of Deputy Director. (TXF: "Within")
