Chester Bonaparte is a Haitian boy who stayed at a refugee camp in Folkstone, North Carolina. He was a close friend and voodoo assistant of Pierre Bauvais, another refugee who watched over the other refugees and was a skilled voodoo practitioner and spiritual consultant. When the soldiers of the camp were dying and being abused, it was revealed the refugees were as well, which led to a riot several weeks before the case started. Bonaparte sold a good luck charm to Mulder and was seen collecting frogs at the cemetery for Bauvais for his practices. Bauvais soon died, beaten under the orders of Jacob Wharton, the leader of the squad at the camp, which devastated Bonaparte and the other refugees. The voodoo rituals were alleged to have been done by Bauvais, but seeing a photo from Haiti revealed Wharton was the practitioner terrorizing and killing his own men. Bauvais rose up from the grave and killed Wharton to save Mulder, Scully saved from a spirit coming out of her wound to strangle her by grabbing Bonaparte's good luck charm. It's later revealed he was the boy who died at the riot, despite being seen several weeks later, meaning he was another resurrected spirit like Bauvais. (TXF: "Fresh Bones")
