Mutants

A mutant is human being that possesses a genetic trait different from normal humans. It causes the mutant to develop superhuman powers that manifest at puberty. Human mutants are sometimes referred to as a human subspecies Homo sapiens superior, or simply Homo superior.  In the X Files, many human mutants appear, most of whom are physically monstrous and morally evil. Serial Killer mutants are particularly common.
