Caballero is a cartel fixer, with a pension for cigars and a charm bracelet with silver skulls on it. By means unknown, he has the ability to stare people in their eyes, dig his thumbnails into their temples, and drain their memories of their identities, often completely. With their memories lost, they either end up drifters or are easy prey in the areas he works, most often never to be found again. John Doggett was tragically one victim of such supernatural thievery, stumbling around Central America to fight for his life and being put in serious danger while trying to escape and fight to get his memories back. Eventually Monica Reyes and Walter Skinner arrived with the Federales in the midst of a serious exchange of gunfire with other cartel thugs to save him. All his memories came flooding back, his strongest link throughout the episode being his son, whom he broke down in tears over again to grieve once remembering he was dead. Caballero is eventually tracked and they all arrive to arrest him. The paranormal ex-cartel enforcer taunted Doggett just beforehand, insisting on knowing why he'd want the memories of his son's murder back despite being so painful. Doggett simply, firmly closed with "because it's mine".(TXF: "John Doe")
