Bo Taylor (played by M.C. Gainey) was a supervising worker for aboard the Galpex-owned oil platform Orpheus in 2001.
History[]
At some point while working on the Orpheus, Taylor and the rest of the workers came into contact with the alien virus known as Black oil, which took control of their bodies. Two men, however, Simon de la Cruz and Diego Garza, proved immune to the virus, but were unable to fight back, being clearly outnumbered by their now-infected colleagues.
One night, in a desperate bid to prevent the spread of the virus to the mainland, de la Cruz snuck away from the living quarters, killed the attending radio officer, and destroyed the radio equipment. Taylor caught him in the act and killed him by emitting a radioactive pulse, burning all of de la Cruz's body, and dumped the remains into the Gulf, washing ashore the next morning at Port Arransis. The incident prompted an unofficial investigation by the FBI due to Fox Mulder's belief that the Orpheus crew had been exposed to Black oil. Mulder and John Doggett are allowed to board the platform in company of the replacement comms engineer, Yuri Volkov, who is infected by Taylor shortly after fixing the radio. After the suspected outbreak is confirmed by Diego Garza, Taylor and his crewmates turn on the agents, intending to them the same they had done to de la Cruz. Doggett was seized by Taylor and very nearly exposed to the black oil before Mulder saved him by bludgeoning the attacker with a lead pipe. If Taylor did not die from the severe and repeated blows dealt by Mulder, he was presumably killed when the platform exploded when the remaining infectees rigged the Orpheus to blow up in a suicide attack.
