Doctor Anne Carpenter was a genetic researcher at Georgetown University's Microbiology Department. She examined samples from the Purity Control project, at the request of FBI Special Agent Dana Scully. Carpenter explained to Scully that the samples she examined had two additional base-pairs and could therefore not have originated from Earth. Dr. Carpenter and her entire family died the next day, in a mysterious car accident. (TXF: "The Erlenmeyer Flask")
Background Check
The "accident" which claimed the lives of Dr. Carpenter and her family was probably a covert assassination, possibly by the Crew Cut Man, to prevent Carpenter's discovery of alien bacteria becoming public knowledge.
Dr. Carpenter was played by Anne DeSalvo.
